About

Hey, I’m Ali Ayoub — and Asia Changed My Life

Honestly, I never planned for Asia to take over my life the way it did.

I’m Ali Ayoub, a solo traveler from Morocco who took one trip to Asia and never really got it out of my system. There’s something about this part of the world, the energy, the food, the fact that every country feels completely different from the one next to it, that keeps pulling me back.

I started AsiaRoadTrip because when I was planning my first trips, I couldn’t find the kind of information I actually needed. Most travel blogs were either too vague, clearly written by someone who spent three days somewhere and called it a guide, or just a list of the same famous spots everyone already knows about. I wanted real information, the kind you’d get from a friend who’s actually been there.

So that’s what I try to write.

What this site is about

I cover destinations, food, travel tips, and the practical stuff like how to get around, what things actually cost, when to go, and what to skip. Everything here is researched properly and written from a place of genuine curiosity, not just to fill a page.

Japan is probably my biggest love on this site. But Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, China… there’s so much ground to cover and I’m not stopping anytime soon.

A solo traveler’s perspective

Traveling alone as someone from Morocco, heading into countries where you don’t speak the language and the culture is completely different, it teaches you a lot. How to figure things out on the fly. How to read a situation. How to find the good stuff that isn’t in any guidebook.

That experience shapes how I write. I don’t assume you have a big budget or a travel agent. I assume you’re doing this yourself and you want to do it right.
